When elderly care belongs at home, and when it does not.

Most daily routines go better at home, the familiar room, the same carer. A sudden emergency belongs in hospital; we step back in once discharge is clean.

What does elderly care at home cost?

A carer (CNA + BLS) is AED 75 per hour, four-hour minimum. If the free assessment shows your parent needs a DHA-licensed nurse, late-stage dementia, insulin, wound care, end-of-life care, the rate is a little higher, on the same plan. Nights, 24-hour and live-in cover are quoted in writing.

What is the difference between a carer and a nurse?

A carer runs the day: washing, medicines, meals, walks, company. A nurse is DHA-licensed and needed for insulin, wounds, catheters, late-stage dementia and end-of-life care. The free assessment decides which. Most families need a carer most of the time.

Will it always be the same person?

Yes. The plan names one main carer (or nurse) and one back-up. You meet both in the first week, and you always know which one is coming.

Can you look after a parent with dementia or Alzheimer's?

Yes. Early to mid-stage dementia is usually a carer, a calm routine, memory prompts, the same face. Late-stage dementia steps up to a DHA-licensed nurse on the same plan. We show the family how to read the good days and the hard ones.

Does insurance pay?

No. Home care in the UAE is paid by you directly. We don't bill insurance companies. The price is confirmed in writing before care starts.
